Farm-fresh Raw Milk
Bookamer Family Farm is very proud to offer our raw milk produced by our loving partners, our dairy cows. Our dairy mamas are the matriarchs of our animal family. They can literally be seen overseeing the duties and works of their other partners in the circle farm. We have been blessed with a group of cows of many breeds that bring to our farm a combination that produces what we think is the most wonderful tasting milk and flavorful cheese you can make. The variety in the milk from these beautiful ladies, together with their sincere love to work for the benefit of the circle, makes a product that the Bookamer family is proud to stand behind.
Our raw milk dairy is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9AM to 7:30 PM. If need be, however, you can call and arrange a time with Bill that suits you better. We also ask that you call for availability of the milk beforehand as we have had such a great response and would not want to disappoint you in your trip to the farm. Please call Bill directly (as she is always busy taking care of our critters in the barn) on her cell phone at 814-323-2130. View our license
Our milk is offered at $2.50 a gallon. You must bring your own containers. We ask that they be cleaned beforehand and that you try to use glass containers. Raw milk needs to be in a container that is easy to keep clean and does not maintain any smells or flavors. Glass is perfect. We like, and recommend to others, 2 quart WIDE mouth mason or ball jars. Combined with the plastic wide mouth storage lids available at most farm and gardens or bulk stores, they make a perfect storage and cleaning duo.
We believe our milk makes a cheese that has that “one of a kind” taste. Our farm has cheese and dairy making classes to help the aspiring dairy creator gain the skill and confidence needed to make the most delicious cheeses and products. Call and join one of our classes and learn the fun and great satisfaction in making your own dairy products from fresh milk today. Classes are personable (we keep them small so that more attention is paid to each individual), fun (it is always exciting to gather together for some time learning something so rewarding), and frugal (the ability to make your own butter, sour cream, cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, etc…. is a savings that compounds daily with each smile and dollar saved). Give Linda (Mom, at the farm) a call and join a dairy class today. Call the farm at 814-425-3450.
