Our Farm Animals
Here on our circle farm, the family loves and cares for many diverse and special animals. They all fulfill a need of the farm and it’s members. Our animals are unique and are treated as equal partners in our farm. They include: a living pond which is home to our fish, ducks, geese, visiting blue heron, and various other wildlife. Our free–range poultry of egg layers and meat birds call to invite birds of many different kinds to join them. The families in our barn include Icelandic sheep, crosses of which contribute to our beautiful homespun yarns. Our alpaca boys give the gifts of unique fiber and warm chuckles. The energetic Pygora goats share a beautiful to touch fiber that makes their funny antics an added gift. The always wonderful to touch rabbit friends give totally of themselves in both fiber and warm snuggles. Our mini-donkeys are all business as they take their protecting ability very seriously. They are the guardian angels of our children and they realize that it is a very worthy calling. Mama donkey loves to take children for a slow and easy cart ride
, while daughter donkey is very special to us ... she has a pace maker! (It keeps both her and our hearts beating steady!) The pigs in our barn are pampered friends. Their gift is obvious but each day our gift to them is a life filled with love and time spent doing what they love best, being doted on. The cows in our family barn are the matriarchs and can sometimes be seen as the council of the animal family. With both dairy and meat to provide, they give the stability and complete balance that the circle farm requires. We are home to many different types of diary and beef cows all of which are grass–fed. The newest additions to our herd are of the Old World Jerseys. These are a smaller Jersey cow than our traditional commercial Jersey. They are more homestead and small farm friendly. The farm family’s dogs are also a vital part here. Their herding and protecting instincts are much needed when the family asks for them. Of course, no farm barn is complete without the family cats to keep the rodent population in check. Come learn about these essential parts of our circle.
The mascot of our farm is a white German Shepard named Archangel. Our love for the German Shepard breed is shown thru the many years that we have had one (or more) on the farm. The dedication that they have given has been awe inspiring. They are the spirit of our circle farm. With careful attention given to the quality of body soundness and noble temperament, our Archangel was chosen. His pedigree of sound hips and good hip certification, added to his spirit, serve to make him a stud of long lasting quality. Stud fees can be obtained by calling or e-mail.
